Why can't my project answer about a document I just added?

New and updated documents are processed in the background before they can be searched, and only documents that have been confirmed in review are used. Both usually finish within a minute.

Check the document state

A newly added or changed document must finish background processing before project chat can retrieve it. Only documents confirmed in review are included in the searchable project context.

  1. Confirm that the document is attached to the intended project.
  2. Check that document processing has completed.
  3. Confirm the document when its review state requires it.
  4. Ask the question again after the source becomes available.
